‘’Screaming in the Dark’’

In the aftermath of Basquiat. Him, he howled with rage, brawled, color burst, his brush was a knife that lacerated the canvas, it was demanding, heavy, intoxicating as a "puff of crack"!

2019. Times have changed, these works are the mirror of it: dark, restless, aimless. They are single beings facing themselves, frightened and frightening. The black slips into them, covers them with his shadow. They cannot escape, or scream as Jean-Michel did, there is nothing left of them but emptiness and despair.

This project is the culmination of two years of work and reflection. (2017-2019) These images are only made of white / black / and lines.

‘‘Crier dans le Noir’’

C’est l’après Basquiat. Lui, il hurlait de rage, se bagarrait, la couleur explosait, son pinceau était un couteau qui lacérait la toile, c’était revendicateur, lourd, enivrant comme une ‘’puff de crack’’ !

2019. Les temps ont changés, ces œuvres en sont le miroir: sombre, inquiet, sans but. Ce sont des êtres seuls face à eux-mêmes, effrayés et effrayant. Le Noir se glisse en eux, les couvre de son ombre. Ils ne peuvent s’échapper, ou crier comme le faisait Jean-Michel, il ne reste d’eux que le vide, le désespoir.

Ce projet est l’aboutissement de deux ans de travail et de réflexion. (2017-2019) Ces images ne sont faites que de blanc/de noir/et de traits.
